Hosea 6:4-7:16 | Hosea calls out the Israelites for running to anything and anyone other than God. Hosea says, "For I desire mercy, not sacrifice". What did that mean for the Israelites? What does that mean for us today?
CONGREGATIONAL PRAYER | PSALM 100
Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise. give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever his faithfulness continues through all generations.
Amen.
The Book of Hosea is credited to one of the 12 "minor prophets" included in the Old Testament. While they're called the "minor prophets," the name refers to the length of their writings-not the importance of their message. These prophets have much to teach us about God and His people. Hosea brings a strong word of conviction for the Israelites but also a message of hope and redemption.
