PEAKE KIDS

Church should never be boring and here it’s not!

We want kids to grow up knowing that following Jesus is normal. Peake Kids helps kids grow in Christ through Biblical teachings they can understand and fun activities they look forward to week after week.

We are passionate about equipping and empowering parents to lead their families spiritually and introduce their children to the hope of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Ministry Features

VISIT SUNDAY

To quicken your check-in process, you can fill out our New Family Registration Form before your first visit. When you arrive, head to our Welcome Center and we’ll give you a tour of our children’s area, and introduce you to your child’s room leaders.

PARENT RESOURCES

Parents, you are the primary spiritual influence for your children. We want you to equip and empower you to be your children’s spiritual leader by bringing you tools and resources that help you start important God conversations, foster prayer, and create moments of worship in your home. See all our Parent Resources and subscribe to our weekly distribution.

your children are safe

We want you to feel like your children are safe when they are with us, because they are. All staff, leaders, and key volunteers undergo routine background checks. All Children’s Ministry volunteers receive a background check and do not serve alone. Each classroom is led by our incredible team of CPR certified volunteer leaders. We also have several on-site security personnel present and stationed throughout the Children’s Ministry hallway.

As part of our check-in process, children and parents receive matching printed name tags and pick-up tags to ensure their safety in our environments. The child’s name tag identifies their age group, any allergies, and a security code that matches the parent pick-up tag. At the end of the service, each parent picking up a child must provide the pick-up tag to the door host. A member of the Peake Kids team will ensure the security codes match on both the child’s name tag and parent pick-up tag.

A growing biblical community

CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

We will do whatever it takes to serve children with special needs in our community. We offer one on one assistance with a trained and caring volunteer team that is designated to create the very best experience for your child in an area that is safe, fun, and suitable to their learning needs. This ministry offers families much-needed time for their own spiritual growth and renewal.

SERVE WITH US

Children’s Ministry is made up of volunteers who use their gifts and talents to make it possible to reach  children at Chesapeake with the life-giving message of the Gospel each weekend. While parents experience their worship service, children participate in exciting and active environments filled with worship, Bible teaching, and small groups. If you have a passion for kids, we would love for you to join our team!

We are waiting for you

Are my children safe?

The safety of your child(ren) matters deeply to us. We have several layers of safety procedures, training, and equipment we use to keep your children safe.

    1. Our secure Check-In system ensures your children are properly checked in and out.
    2. All staff, leaders, and key volunteers are background checked and CPR certified. They renew their certifications every two years.
    3. All staff and leaders undergo Emergency Response Training and additional safety training regularly.
    4. We have a dedicated team of unarmed volunteers on our Safety Team. They are an added layer of protection over our Children’s venues specifically This is in addition to our armed security team that is the watchful eye protecting the entire church campus.
    5. Each Children’s Ministry venue has barricade hardware installed in the event of a lockdown emergency.
    6. Each Children’s Ministry venue has a radio that’s connected to an integrated system across the entire church campus for immediate communications.

What training do Peake Kids’ volunteers go through?

All staff and volunteers are thoroughly background checked and CPR certified. These certifications are renewed every two years. In addition, all staff and leaders have Response to Armed Intruder Training which teaches and prepares them to know how to lock down a room, protect children, and respond to medical needs while professionals are on the way.
