Hebrews 1:4-2:18 | Have you ever had a friend or relative who has their entire home filled with statutes, pictures, and other items with angels? God created angels and has assigned them important tasks, but they are not Jesus. Jesus is superior to the angels.
Congregational Prayer of Adoration
Glory to You, Father everlasting, who sent Your only-begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him. Glory to You, Lord Jesus Christ, who brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel. Glory to You, Holy Spirit, who quickens us with Christ and pours His love into our hearts. Blessed are You, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit-one God; and blessed be Your glorious name forever. Amen.
Hebrews presents Jesus as God's supreme and final revelation, superior to angels, Moses, and the old covenant priesthood. It explains that Jesus' once-for-all sacrifice and eternal priesthood (in the order of Melchizedek) establish a better covenant, inviting believers to trust, persevere, and live in holiness. The letter warns against unbelief and spiritual stagnation, celebrates faith through examples (Hebrews 11), and urges endurance under God's loving discipline toward the promised rest.
