Acts 14:21-15:35 | As modern Americans we take our "rights" seriously and believe our personal freedoms must be protected at all costs. But Paul writes that while all things may be permissible, not all things are beneficial to the life of the church. The Council of Jerusalem, therefore, is a major event in the history of the church as these early believers sought out how to live fully in the freedom of Christ while loving one another inside and outside the church.

Since Genesis 1 God's promise has been to fill all the earth with His presence and glory, for peoples from all the nations to know Him. Through the Gospel of Jesus Christ this mission is now coming to fruition! Thus, we journey now with Paul through the rest of the book of Acts as Jew and Gentile alike across the ancient world hear the offer of salvation proclaimed all the way to Rome itself.
