In our modern culture, our perspective of “kings” or “lords” is most often something out of movies, television, or history books. Yet throughout scripture, Jesus is referred to as both a King and Lord. And not just any King or Lord, but the King of kings and Lord of lords. So what does that mean for us in 2020? To answer that, we must each first ask ourselves: “Who is my king?”
If there is any consistent theme throughout the Gospels it is the idea of the Kingdom. Jesus’ own birth was described as the arrival of a King. As followers of Christ, it is our calling to build His Kingdom, live in His Kingdom, fight for His Kingdom and, perhaps most importantly, call others into His Kingdom. It’s a big deal: The Kingdom
