SUMMER IN THE PSALMS

The Psalms have been called “the prayer book of the Bible.” We remember that Jesus died on the cross with a psalm on His lips, a prayer to His Father on behalf of a sinful and rebellious world. The Psalms not only, then, speak to the character and will of God, but also teach us how to commune with Him, talk with Him, and, most importantly, listen to Him in the varied circumstances of our lives.

Loving The Lost

At Chesapeake we talk about reaching lost people. Jesus teaches that sometimes the lost are really folks who run away. This week we take a fresh look at a familiar story, The Prodigal Son. And, we learn that the true Beauty in Loving the Lost is to love them when they return. And, we celebrate Communion.
