Sermon Series: Advent

As we near Christmas, we occupy now a season of prayer and repentance in hopeful anticipation of the return of Jesus. Just as the Old Testament saints waited in darkness for the coming of the Messiah and God’s promised redemption (Isaiah 9:2; Matthew 4:16), we now await His second coming, His glorious entry into the world again, His adventus, or advent. Thus, in this season while we remember the first coming of Jesus, we celebrate and look forward to His second coming.

LAW, GRACE, & MISSION

Acts 14:21-15:35 | As modern Americans we take our "rights" seriously and believe our personal freedoms must be protected at all costs. But Paul writes that while all things may be permissible, not all things are beneficial to the life of the church. The Council of Jerusalem, therefore, is a major event in the history of the church as these early believers sought out how to live fully in the freedom of Christ while loving one another inside and outside the church.
