DONOR PRIVACY POLICY 

A Sacred Trust

As a Chesapeake Church donor, you have entrusted to our care not only your tithes and offerings, but personal information as well. We thank you for your trust and promise to protect both your Kingdom investment and your personal information in keeping with the highest ethical standards and industry practices.

A Promise To Protect

Our promise means that we do not share, sell or trade donor information to anyone. We use the personal information you provide to us only for the intended purpose – to manage your contributions in keeping with your stated intention.

Within Chesapeake, we maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards in keeping with industry standards and practices. We limit access to confidential information to those employees who need it to perform their jobs, and hold those employees to a strict code of ethics. We also allow access to your information to auditors and other third parties only as mandated by regulatory requirements.

Online Privacy Policy

Our Privacy Policy extends online. If you choose to send Chesapeake an email, we may retain the contents of your email message, the reply, and your email address as part of ongoing customer service efforts.

Through our website, we offer convenient online access to our ministry services, important opportunities and events. We will not collect personal information from you when you visit our website unless you provide the information to us voluntarily and knowingly.

  • Registering for a class or special event: When you register online for a class or special event, we may ask for your name and contact information. Depending on the activity, we may also collect payment information, such as standard credit card data.
  • Applying to serve at as a volunteer: When you apply for a volunteer opportunity, we may ask for your name and contact information. We may ask for other data as well, depending on the volunteer activity.
  • Making a financial contribution: When you make a financial contribution online, we collect your name, contact information and standard debit/credit card data.

We use a variety of safeguards to protect the security of your financial transactions. We use technologies and processes such as encryption, access controls, network firewalls, physical security and other measures. These measures make it extremely difficult for anyone to intercept any credit/debit card information you send to us. When we work with other companies to process credit card transactions, those companies also use encryption and other security measures.

Chesapeake reserves the right to contact you after you have contacted us and may send future mail and/or surveys to you about the Church.

You may notify us via email if you wish to discontinue electronic communication or review/correct personal information provided to the Church in the past.
