Programs

Journey

Journey is the best place for teens to learn more about God while building meaningful relationships. No need to RSVP, sign up, or check in - just show up! When you walk in our front doors into the The Lobby Coffee Bar, turn right, enter the double doors into our auditorium, and you're there!

Middle School Journey – Middle schoolers gather Tuesday nights from 7:00-8:30 PM at Chesapeake Church.  Journey includes different activities each week including a hang out time, games, an engaging large group teaching, worship, small groups, and more. These nights are created to help youth learn about God while building genuine relationships. Journey regularly begins meeting each year in September and concludes in May. Check out our calendar for specific dates.

High School Journey – High schoolers gather Wednesday nights from 7:00-8:30 PM at Chesapeake Church.  Journey includes different activities each week including a hang out time, games, engaging large group teaching, worship, small groups, and more. These nights are created to help youth learn about God while building genuine relationships. Journey regularly begins meeting each year in September and concludes in May. Check out our calendar for specific dates.

Combined Journey – On select Wednesdays throughout the year, we have Combined Journey nights, where over 300 middle and high schoolers gather together for bonfires, parties, shows, tournaments, and more. These nights are special and always provide something new. To view our Combined Journey nights, please check out our calendar for specific dates.

Summer Chills

Though Journey takes a break during the Summer, we continue to provide ways for teens to connect with each other and their leaders. Check our calendar for specific dates June-August.

Middle School Summer Chills take place on select Tuesdays from 7:00-8:30pm down in Summit Park (at the end of the commuter parking lot). These nights include games and free good - a perfect atmosphere for all incoming 6-8th graders.

High School Summer Chills take place on select Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30pm off campus at a local water-front house at 3431 Horn Rd, Huntingtown, MD, 20639. Our incoming 9-12th graders take a night to relax in the sand with free food or enjoy the water in a kayak or on a paddleboard - making memories and new friendships.

Weekend Services

We encourage our youth, 6th – 12th grade, to join our church body in Saturday evening or Sunday morning services in the Auditorium at Chesapeake Church. We believe it's critical for youth to not be entirely isolated by their age during worship services so they can learn how to be part of the whole church congregation, now, and for the rest of their lives. Also, our distinct privilege at Chesapeake Church is having exciting, engaging, and musically excellent services that our youth can enjoy and benefit from greatly.

Along with attending services, we encourage youth to serve during another one of our weekend services. This is a great way for them to be connected to the body of believers while learning their gifted passions by serving. To see a list of serving opportunities for you and your youth, click here.
